The Converter Fast Repairing Technology

The rapid repairing technology is to control the appropriate slag composition, use the high melting point mineral content of the slag after tapping, and add a proper amount of pig iron to make the slag, pig iron and the furnace lining become a whole, to achieve the effect of repairing the furnace, because of the protection formed ;There are pig iron blocks in the layer, so it has high mechanical strength, resistance to impact and abrasion, and slows down the erosion rate of furnace lining bricks, so as to reduce the consumption of refractory materials and increase the life of the converter.
The operation steps and main points are:

  1. For heats that require rapid slag surface repair, notify the operator in advance that 200Kg of magnesium balls will be added during the smelting process, and the end point is controlled according to the end point [C]>0.07%; slag basicity R: 2.5-3.0; MgO content 9%~ 10%. And notify the scrap preparation team to prepare a scrap bucket of 1.5t pig iron in order to prepare for the need for quick repair of the furnace.
  2. In order to ensure the furnace repair layer formed after the slag surface is quickly repaired, the slag can cover the pig iron block, and the slag volume is required to be relatively large. The "big mouth slag" should be avoided during the temperature measurement and sampling of the furnace and the process of tapping.
  3. After placing the steel, without splashing slag to protect the furnace, directly shake the furnace body to 75°, that is, the angle between the furnace mouth and the furnace front platform is 15°, and use a scrap bucket to add a prepared 1.5t pig iron block, and then slowly shake it Turn the furnace to 100°, so that the pig iron block is just in the area where the slag surface is impacted by the waste iron and steel water. The furnace head should observe the situation from the furnace mouth. Adjust the converter angle according to the actual situation.
  4. After waiting for 5 minutes, the slag and pig iron have been solidified on the slag surface, and the converter is shaken to the zero position, and the slag splashing protection operation is carried out normally.
  5. After the slag splashing operation is completed, the slag is normally dumped, and the waste steel water is poured into the waste steel water for blowing. After the rapid repair of the furnace, the first furnace requires careful operation, the slag is converted, and the process is well controlled. "Three hits", do a good job of slag splashing and furnace protection after tapping.
  6. The safety precautions should be paid more to the repairing times of the pig iron slag than the conventional repairing of the slag surface, and the relevant safety operation regulations should be strictly implemented. Before the furnace is poured, no people are allowed to pass in front of the furnace mouth. Warm sampling operation.

The method of quickly repairing the furnace with slag surface and pig iron can replace the conventional furnace repairing method. This method is flexible and effective. It can make full use of the production gap to protect the furnace. While ensuring the furnace protection effect, the cost of refractory materials is reduced, and the converter is improved. Production efficiency has a positive effect on completing production tasks and increasing product competitiveness.
